Middle School Cross Country Information
Competition: 2022 Boys and Girls Cross Country Meet Schedule
First Week of practice schedule:
Monday, Aug. 29th: 3:30 - 4:45 at East–Meet on the steps of the Atrium
Tuesday, Aug. 30th: 8:00 - 9:15 AM at East
Wednesday, Aug. 31st: 3:30 - 4:45 at East--High School CC Joining US!!!
Thursday, Sep. 1st: 3:30 - 4:45 at East
Once school starts, practices are held after school 3:15 until 4:45 pm. Please pick up your child at East by 5:00 each night.

Sports Physical: Players need to have a sports physical on file in the activities office. Sports physicals are valid for three years. You need to have a sports physical on file in order to register through SchoolSmartK12 on ParentVue.
Registration: Registration will open online on July 18th. Registration information will be emailed to parents and guardians at that time. The activity fee is $187.50. If your family is on the reduced or free lunch plan, your fee is lower. The system should tell you how much you have to pay according to your lunch account status. If you think there is an error with the fee, please contact the MSE Activities Director at (763) 497-2655 ext. 3003. Make sure your child has an active physical on file with the activities office or the system will not allow you to register.
Behavior: As an athlete for Middle School East, our athletes are ambassadors of our school. As an ambassador of our school, we expect our athletes’ behavior to be exceptional. We want our athletes to be positive role models for others to see and follow.
Important Policies to remember:
- Students need to be passing all of their classes to be on the Cross Country team. The MSE activities director will check to see if players are passing all of their classes at mid-tri.
- Students need to be in class five full periods of the day in order to practice or compete that night. Students with a doctor’s appointment may be excused from this requirement if they have documentation from the doctor referencing the appointment. Make sure to bring this note from the doctor to MSE attendance secretary Ms. Bergen.
- Your coaches will expect the players to be at practice every day.
- Missed practices may result in reduced competition time.
Clothes: Make sure to have warm clothes in your locker at all times. There will be some very cold days in the fall, dress smart.
Girls Soccer Highlights from October 17th against BeckerGirl's Soccer A-Team played a great match against Becker coming out with a 5-1 win, and blowing their goal of 50 goals by the end of the season out of the water. They go into their last match undefeated. Goals by Anya R., Stella F., Kenna G., and two goals by Camille I. Amazing defending by McKenna B.Girl's Soccer B-Team played their best game of the season coming out with a 3-1 win over Becker. Hat-trick by Jayla S. Rebecca S. as MVP.
Cross Country Highlights from the Big Meet on October 17thThe STMA Cross Country team finished out the season on a high note last night bringing home second place finishes in both the boys and girls races. Top performers for East were Reese C., Noelle M., Braylen M., and Breck A. in the top 15, and Brady J. that shaved a whopping three minutes off of his two-mile race time! Congrats on a great season, runners!
Cross Country Highlights from October 11th at PrincetonCross Country was at Princeton last night. It was another strong showing for both the boys and girls teams! The boys finished 2nd as a team! Braylen M. finished 6th overall, Aiden E. 12th, Riley A. 17th, Breck A. 18th to round out the top 20. The girls team finished in first! Reese C. finished 9th, and Gabby C. had a strong second half race to move up and finish 17th. Congratulations Runners!
Cross Country Highlights from October 6th at Fox HollowCross Country was at Fox Hollow last night. The girls won the meet with a score of 18 points. Top East runners were Reese C. in 4th, Gabby C. in 11th, and Noelle M. in 13th. Also running strong last night were Ruby M., Kennedy L., and Julia B.! The boys missed winning the meet by 2 points. Out in front for the boys was Aiden E. in 7th, Riley A. in 8th, and Braylen M. in 10th. Breck A., Grady R., and Finn D. came in strong in 13th, 14th, and 19th respectively. Brady J. made a big stride, improving from his previous race! Grade Job Runners! Their next meet is next Tuesday in Princeton.
Cross Country Highlights from October 3rd at STMA
Congratulations to the Girls and Boys Cross Country Teams for both taking first place at the home meet yesterday! Finishing in the top 25 were: Reese C. (2nd), Gabby C. (10th), Ruby M. (11th), Kennedy L. (13th), Noelle M. (14th). Personal Record ALERT! Ava H. had her best race of the season taking over 1 minute off her race time from last week! Great Job Everyone!
Cross Country Highlights from September 22nd at Buffalo
The Cross Country teams were at Buffalo last night. The boys took 4th place out of 10 teams. Out of 126 runners Braylen M. finished 18th, Aiden E. finished 21st, and Riley A. finished 23rd. Grady R. and Jackson P. finished next for the team in 30th and 31st place respectively. Brady J. took 1 minute per mile off his time from our last meet!The girls team took 2nd place. Reese C. finished 5th overall. Noelle M. was a big difference maker. Her 28th place finish was the tied breaker to push the team to 2nd place! Julia B. had a personal best as well running 45 seconds faster per mile!
Our STMA Middle School Cross Country team had their first meet of the season last Friday on 9/9! A wet and rainy night didn't stop our knights from bringing home first place in both the boys and girls races! Finishing in the top ten for the boys race were Breck A., Braylen M., Riley A., and Aiden E. Finishing top ten for the girls were Reese C., and Gabby C. Great job, runners!
