Thursday, February 11

Good morning!!  It’s Thursday, February 11th and it is an In Person day for 5th grade and a Distance Learning Day for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.

Video Announcements

  • We have a shortened week this week. There is no school tomorrow or Monday to celebrate the Presidents Day holiday. We are excited to have grades 6, 7, and 8 joining us along with 5th graders for in person learning on Tuesday.

  • 5th Grade Team B, it is a choir day! You are dismissed at 1:36 during 4th hour for your rehearsal. Please make sure to check with your teacher before leaving your class. Team A singers, you will rehearse on Tuesday.

  • Attention 5th grade band students: Band lessons begin next week! Clarinet and trombone players will need their instruments on Tuesday. Stop by the band room before SEL to drop off your instrument! Check Google Classroom for the full lesson schedule.

  • Students who are in band AND choir - Next week is a band week, meaning you only attend band lessons. The following week will be a choir week, meaning you only attend choir lessons. Check Google Classroom if you forget what week it is!

  • Student Council is hosting their annual winter fundraiser! This year's theme is Acts of Kindness. All you need to do is be kind, film a quick flipgrid video about your act of kindness, and then wait to see if your name is drawn. You can find the flipgrid in the attendance Google Classroom. Please make sure you state your name, grade, and describe your act of kindness when filming your flipgrid. You're welcome to submit as many videos as you like! If your name is drawn, you will get to choose from a few different local places to donate to. The flipgrid will close on Friday, February 12th, and the winners will be announced on Wednesday, February 17th. If we get enough submissions, there will be school-wide activities as well. See Mrs. Lindquist or Mrs. Gritti if you have any questions!

  • Here is our Thursday Think It Through Question: Two girls were born to the same mother, at the same time, on the same day, in the same month and in the same year and yet somehow they’re not twins. Why not?  Answer: Because there was a third girl, which makes them triplets!

  • The hot lunch option is a breaded pork patty with mashed potatoes, a dinner roll, mixed veggies, and applesauce. The cold lunch option is a bento box chicken ranch salad with diced pears and a dinner roll. Both lunch lines will offer the same options, and lunches are free for all enrolled students.

  • Attention 5th graders: The temperature is below zero, so we will be indoors for recess. Indoor recess will be in your classroom. Please continue to maintain social distance, keep personal devices put away, and follow the rules of your classroom. Team B will eat lunch first and then return to their classrooms for recess. Team A will stay in their rooms for recess and then go to lunch. Students that are in their ALB classes before lunch will return to the pod for recess.

Have a great day!
