  • Middle school robotics team Micro Militia had their first competition this weekend. They received 2nd place in the think award (engineering notebook and portfolio), and 3rd place in the control award (using sensors and software for programming). Wish them luck for their upcoming 2nd competition on Saturday.

  • Those who participated in the regional spelling bee competition, please stop into the main office after announcements to pick up your ribbon.

  • Attention all choir students! It is a Team B rehearsal day for all grades. All rehearsals will take place in the last 20 minutes of a class period; 7th grade during 1st hour, 8th grade during 2nd hour, 5th grade during 4th hour, and 6th grade during 5th hour. See you then!

  • Volleyball registration is now open for 7th and 8th graders. The season will start on March 15th and run through April 15th.

  • Wrestlers have a tournament at the High School after school today. They should change in the locker room and catch a shuttle from the East bus lot at 3:05 to head to the High School. There will be no bus returning to East, so students will be picked up from the High school.

  • The 8th grade Boys Basketball A team defeated Chisago Lakes by 35 off of a great team defensive effort Monday night. Gage K. led the way with 26 points. Layton B. added 15. The 8th grade B team gave it their all out on the court Monday night but lost 23-21 despite playing an amazing game. Dylan M. led the team with 10 points followed by Kamden S. with 6 points and Jaydon A. with 3 points. We crashed the boards and came away with many rebounds and 9 steals.

  • The 7th grade Boys Basketball team traveled to Chisago Lakes and took on the Wildcats Monday, but unfortunately the Wildcats came away with the win.  Balanced scoring was there for the team.  Mason V. and Brendan H. led the way with 6 pts each.  Titus S. and Liam H. had 4 pts each.  AJ H. had 3 pts.  Jonathan L., Tyler R., Drew D., Nick R., Ethan J. had 2 pts each.  Rowan A. had 1 pt.  The boys return to action today as they take on their rivals the Buffalo Bison.

  • Boys Basketball is at Buffalo tonight. Players will board the bus at 3:20 from the phy ed hallway doors. Players should change in the locker room before boarding the bus and bring all of their stuff with them on the bus.

  • The hot lunch option is a hamburger on a bun with tomato, lettuce, pickles, corn and mixed fruit. The cold lunch option is a taco salad with nacho chips, mixed fruit, lettuce, taco meat, tomato, cheese, salsa, and sour cream. Both lunch lines will offer the same options, and lunches are free for all enrolled students. There are no seconds offered at this time

  • Attention Students and Teachers; there has been confusion about where to go for recess this week as Team B is eating first and Team A is eating second. We did not have to put this into action until Monday of this week because we had so many days of indoor recess. I apologize for not covering the process in detail on Monday. Here is the explanation for which half of the bus lot you use.

    • Just like you switch eating first and second, you switch the side of the lot where you have recess each week. First lunch teams use the first or side of the bus lot closest to the cafeteria. Second lunch teams use the second or side of the bus lot farthest away from the cafeteria. The reason for this is so there is no crossing of teams in the hallway.

    • Team B eats first this week, so they are on the half of the lot closest to the cafeteria.

    • Team A east second this week, so they are on the half of the lot farthest away from the cafeteria.

Have a great day!
