Wednesday, March 3

Good morning!!  It’s Wednesday, March 3rd.

Video Announcements

  • Volleyball registration is now open for 7th and 8th graders. The season will start on March 15th and run through April 15th.

  • The 7th grade traveled to Monticello to take on the Magic and came away with a pair of defeats.  A poor night shooting from the field and the Magics decided advantage in the rebounding department contributed to the A team defeat.  Mason V. led with 5 pts.  Lane J., Brendan H., AJ H., and Titus S. had 2 pts each.  The B team used balanced team effort in their scoring column but still came up on the short end of the scoreboard.  John S. had 9 pts to lead the way for the Knights.  Connor M. had 7 pts.  Liam H. had 6 pts.  Tyler R. had 3 pts and Jonathan L. had 2 pts.  Tristan S. pulled down 3 rebounds and Ben R. grabbed 2 rebounds for the Knights.

  • The hot lunch option is turkey gravy with mashed potatoes, peas, a dinner roll, and peaches. The cold lunch option is a pizza bento box with shredded cheese, marinara sauce cup, flat bread, fresh broccoli, and peaches. Both lunch lines will offer the same options, and lunches are free for all enrolled students. There are no seconds offered at this time.

  • We will be out front for recess today. A Team eats lunch first, and B Team goes to recess first in the lot farthest from the cafeteria using the doors between the 6th and 7th grade pods.

  • Knights’ Honor is a set of core values that we at MSE share. When students demonstrate Safety, Respect, Honesty, or Citizenship, staff submit their names for Knights’ Honor. Let’s celebrate being back to in person learning by showing and recognizing Knights’ Honor around our school. For the month of March, we will be running a competition among SEL classes to see which class gets the highest number of Knights’ Honor submissions per student in your SEL. The winning SEL will have a Culvers’ Custard party in the cafeteria during SEL Friday, April 9th.

  • Our winners should come to the office after announcements to pick up their coupon for a free scoop of custard at Culver’s.

5th grader, Allie T. demonstrated Citizenship; Mrs. Swanson recognized Allie because she volunteered to help a few classmates with their math homework during work time. She did a great job of teaching them and not just giving answers.

6th grader, Zach W. demonstrated Citizenship; Mr. Sartori had this to say about him: I look forward to every SEL and Live

Lesson with you! You have the best

personality and sense of humor! Thank you for being YOU!! And THE CAKE IS A LIE!!

7th grader, Miina P. demonstrated Citizenship; Ms. Ross had this to say about her: Miina took the lead and offered to teach 3 other

students the Math lessons and help with homework! Miina has been teaching Math and doing a great job explaining and describing steps, asking each “student” for input on what the correct answer is. Thank you!

8th grader, Charlie S. demonstrated Citizenship; Mrs. Dolan recognized him because Charlie had completed his project in Tech Ed and saw that there was another student that wasn't quite sure how to complete the next step on their project. Without being asked he showed them what they needed to do.

Have a great day!
