This is a friendly reminder to come to the media center BEFORE KORT to check out a book so you are prepared to read during DEAR in KORT on Mondays and Tuesdays. If your bus arrives later, maybe plan ahead and get a book on Friday.

The Knights 8A Basketball Team took on the Bulldogs from Becker Monday night. The Knights won 51-26. The Knights jumped out to a big lead improving their record to 3-1. The Knights were back on the court Tuesday as they took on the Buffalo Bison. From the start of the tip, the Knights went on a run, led by Thomas who had 25 points, a monster game in the paint by Jared who had 13 points, and LaRon who had 12 points. They were too much for Buffalo to handle. They continued to increase their lead throughout the game with a 64-43 win. Adam and Bayler both had 4 points apiece, Andrew ended up with 3 points, Cooper had 2 points, and Lane with 1 point. The Knights improved to 4-1 as they hit the road this Thursday to take on the Big Lake Hornets.

In the second game of a back-to-back, the 7A Knights Boys Basketball Team fell to the Buffalo Bison 33-47. The Bison played good defense in the first half, but the Knights came out swinging in the second half and cut the deficit. Led by Finn D. and Zach R., who had 8 points apiece, the Knights fought but ultimately came up short.

The Knights Boys Basketball 7B Blue Team doesn’t give up. Despite falling to the Buffalo Bison 39-46, the Knights kept their streak of good team defensive performances. Jon A. (11 pts) and Nohe O. (10 pts) led the offensive charge and 8 out of 10 Knights scored at least 2 points.

The Knights Boys Basketball 7B Gold Team fought a good battle against the Bison but lost a close one by a score of 31-35. Both Finn O. and Cooper W. scored 9 points, while Parker L. contributed 8 points himself. Cooper also had a fantastic block that resembled one from LeBron James. Zach N. hit a big three-pointer and the Knights played a good game overall. This team has got heart! Go Knights!

Just your daily reminder that STMA Boys Volleyball will be starting up this season in March. Here is some background information that you may or may not have known. STMA and Elk River have combined for the last five years as a high school club team, due to growth in numbers around the entire state of Minnesota, STMA needs to create their own team. Last year, the team won the state championship with Middle School East’s Treysen Cornillez who played on Varsity as a 7th and 8th grader. They look forward to a successful season again. Come out and learn. Stop by the MRS. PILNEY’S ROOM A107 to get on the informational list.

Attention 5th graders! Your WEB leaders would love to see you after school on Friday for our Blingo event! The cost is 5 dollars, and the event goes until 4:30. Bring extra money for concessions if you want a snack!

We are indoors for recess today. Please leave your outerwear in your locker. There are no media center passes through Wednesday due to testing.
